Here are some of the questions that come up often, so I thought I'd include the answers all in one place.
What are your rates?

If you're a new student, I have a 5 week program available for $99. It's a good way to see if we are a good fit for lessons, and gives us a longer time to get to know one another before you really have to commit to anything.
After the 5 week program, you have a few pricing options depending on what you need.
If price is an issue for you, let me know - I'm happy to help when I can and I may have some partial scholarship slots available

- I also offer a 100% money back guarantee if you decide later in the program that these lessons aren't for you
- I try to make it as easy as possible for you to try guitar lessons, and make the right choice for yourself
After the 5 week program, you have a few pricing options depending on what you need.

How long are lessons?
I like to start out with 30 minute lessons, and go from there. While some students want to take hour long lessons, 30 minute guitar lessons are a better fit for the majority of people.
If you are a serious student who wants to get a degree in music and make a career out of playing guitar, hour long lessons might be the right option for you.
For most people though, you're going to get everything you need out of 30 minute weekly lessons.
If you really want to take an hour a week, consider booking 2 lessons a week instead of trying an hour all at once. You'll have more time to digest and practice the information before coming back for more.

- The peak adult attention span is only about 20 minutes
- We can get plenty of learning and playing done in a 30 minute time slot

Is there a book I need to buy?
I actually create all of my own lesson materials, so you don't need to buy a book for your guitar lessons.
I've spent years developing a library of guitar handouts that will cover just about any topic you could think of. And if you need something I don't already have material for? I'll create a handout just for you.
You will end up with a better and more personalized guitar lesson experience because you'll be getting material that is going to make the biggest direct impact in your playing and knowledge.
All of your handouts are included in your lesson price, so there's nothing extra for you to buy to learn guitar.

When are you available for lessons?
You can click here to see my online schedule.
In general, I teach Monday through Thursday from about 10:00am to about 6:00pm (PST). The best way to find a lesson time is to check my online schedule and fill out the information to book a lesson.
If you don't see a time that works for you, please contact me. I will see if I can find a time that works for both of us.
I keep my scheduler as up-to-date as I can, but sometimes things fall through the cracks or I have a student who is changing times in the near future. It's always a good idea to email me if you can't find a time.

Are you accepting students for in-person lessons?
Right now I am only accepting students for online lessons.
I have an excellent system in place for online guitar lessons, and have been teaching online since 2012.
My teaching approach is the same whether we're in person or online. That means you'll get the same lessons that you would in person, just without the commute!
Some of my most successful students have been online-only students. With a good teacher there is no difference between learning guitar in person or online.
I always do my best to create a great learning experience for you - and most of my students have found that they actually prefer online lessons.
If you're on the fence about online guitar lessons, my advice is to just give it a try. Take the 5 week course mentioned earlier on this page.
You won't be billed until after the first lesson to make sure we're a good fit, and you can decide get a refund at any point in the 5 weeks if you decide online lessons aren't for you. There's really no risk to you at all.
